WEW Displays Light Vehicle Fluid Module at DefExpo 2014
All round capability in transporting fluids are on display on the WEW stand at DefExpo being held in New Delhi from 6th to 9th February 2014. At the centre of the display on stand 11.14 in the German pavilion is a Light Vehicle Module (LVM) fitted with integral cooling, preservation and pumping.
“WEW has a long and wide experience of providing fluid logistics solutions across defence, homeland security, chemical, nuclear, oil and gas where our skills in providing solutions with high levels of integrity are paramount,” said Dr Ulrich Bernhardt, Chief Executive of WEW.
“We believe the potential in the Indian market for solutions is very real, especially in the areas where high quality levels are critical. It is this expectation of the market that has led to us teaming with TATA Motors for marketing and local manufacture purposes in India,” added Dr Bernhardt.
The LVM is a 3000 litre module which can be fitted to a half size standard ISO frame for easy transportation or can be directly mounted onto the logistic variants of 4 x 4 or 6 x 6 patrol vehicle to provide integral fuel or water for deploying forces. A similar size trailer mounted removable unit has recently started to enter service with the German Bundeswehr, whilst in the US the company has teamed with Choctaw Defense to develop the Camel, also a trailer mounted removable solution.
Alongside the LVM is a display of the company’s ISO based modular fuel and water solutions. These are designed as complete systems with purification, pumps, chlorination, filters, insulation, or heating as required to make them fit for purpose. The systems are designed to be transported and operated throughout both civil and military supply chains anywhere in the world.
