Marshall Land Systems Team Takes on 3 Peaks Challenge
23 Members of staff gave up part of the Jubilee Weekend to climb over 3,400 metres and drive over 1200 miles in 24 hours
Cambridge, 7th June 2012; An intrepid team from Marshall Land Systems gave up part of the Jubilee weekend to raise money for charity. 22 people set off on Friday morning to scale the three highest peaks in the British Isles in just 24 hours.
Departing from Mildenhall on Friday morning, 1st June, in vehicles including Range Rovers, kindly loaned by sister company Marshall Military Sales from Marshall Motor Group, the team started climbing Snowdon as the evening drew in. It was then off to the Lake District to reach the summit of Scafell as the sun rose. Finally just after lunch Ben Nevis was the target with a celebration when the team reached the base of the mountain.
The team was split into 18 walkers and 4 drivers. For the drivers it was no holiday as they had to drive over 1,200 miles, grabbing sleep whilst the walkers were scaling the mountains and providing admin back up for the walkers. For the walkers it tested their endurance to the extreme as they climbed over 3,400 metres in 24 hours.

I am immensely proud of their efforts and delighted that they all enjoyed themselves even though they are now very tired. They can congratulate themselves on a job well done,” said Peter Callaghan, Chief Executive of Marshall Land Systems.
