Marshall Land Systems and Armatec Survivability Form Team to Tackle Canadian Special Equipment Vehicle Kitting Programme
Down selected companies form team to bid for Canadian DND SEV Kitting Programme to fit out in excess of 800 DND Shelters
Dorchester Ontario, Cambridge England 4th January 2012; In simultaneous releases Marshall Land Systems (MLS) Cambridge UK and Armatec Survivability Corporation (ASC) announced that they are forming a team to jointly respond to the tender for the Special Equipment Vehicle (SEV) Kitting Contract for the Canadian Department of National Defence.
The Canadian based bid team has been working together for some time and incorporates members of both companies. Other members of the two companies are called on as required to make use of the extensive capabilities both companies possess or have access to. Access to the wider Marshall Group, including Marshall Aerospace Canada is of particular use in the team’s activities.
A joint supply chain is being established and has provided pricing and assistance to the team in formulating the tender response. The supply network is based on Armatec’s existing suppliers and MLS’s discussions with potential Canadian based suppliers from all over Canada. The aim is to provide a tender that stresses the team’s purpose of delivering stores and components to the right place at the right time so that the team can make a best value, on time, delivery to DND of approximately 800 shelters that have to be fitted out as part of any resulting contract the successful bidder will receive. The shelters are broken down into several distinct module groups depending on their role and requirements.
Speaking in Cambridge, Peter Callaghan Chief Executive of MLS said “Marshall has a long tradition of involvement in Canada. We are responding to this through Marshall SV, one of the world’s leading shelter suppliers. Our bid brings together the best of Canadian and UK attitudes of “it can and will be done!” and Canadian suppliers and skills. Add MLS’ reputation for quality solutions, delivered to time and cost to finding someone with Armatec’s skills, capabilities and extensive facilities to join with has been wonderful. They share our commitment to Quality, Integrity and Agility and it is a pleasure working with them”
Paul Bergqvist COO of ASC speaking in Dorchester said “The challenge of meeting this demanding tender has energised both companies. Working with a company of MLS’s experience and knowledge in the shelter business has been a pleasure and members of both companies have gelled into a very effective team. We are confident that with ASC capabilities and MLS’ experience and both companies’ attitude to risk management we can give DND exactly what they want and more at a very competitive price utilising the very best of Canadian skills and resources”
